Dear IASP virtual conference delegates,

I am looking forward to welcoming you to IASP's very first virtual conference, which will explore “The human factor: people, communities and their innovation ecosystems.”

In the new knowledge economy, people, talent and skills are now the most important asset for companies, and to attract world-class talent and entrepreneurial people, innovative companies need world-class environments. Areas of innovation and science parks play a crucial role in providing such environments where people want to live and work, and they contribute to the creation of vibrant, sustainable cities and communities.

At our online event, we will be reflecting on how they go about this: how they integrate education, experimentation, incubation, and innovation in the life of their cities and regions, connecting people to technology and technology to people and building human-centred spaces. We will also explore how they can adapt their infrastructure and services under COVID 19, to continue providing high-level innovation support to  their companies and entrepreneurs.

I look forward to hearing your contributions, ideas and insights.
